Al-Hilal star Aleksandar Mitrovic has reportedly been hospitalised due to a 'rapid heartbeat'.
According to reports in Saudi Arabia, the Serbian striker was taken to Al-Habib Hospital, Al-Suwaidi, in Riyadh, on Sunday morning because of a 'rapid heartbeat due to physical stress'. The report adds that an attending physician has recommended 'complete rest' for Mitrovic.
Mitrovic, who only recently returned to action from a hamstring injury, scored in Al-Hilal's 2-0 Saudi Pro League win at Al-Feiha on Friday so this is a sudden and worrying news update.
The 30-year-old forward has been in prolific form this season despite missing nearly two months with a hamstring problem. He has scored 21 goals and provided three assists for Al-Hilal during the current campaign.
It remains to be seen how long the former Fulham striker will be out for Al-Hilal after this troubling episode. An update from the Saudi club is likely to come in due course.
