Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has finally addressed questions about the Premier League title race after previously storming out of a post-match interview following Arsenal's frustrating 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Gunners found themselves in a challenging position when Bruno Fernandes gave the hosts the lead just before halftime. Arsenal managed to salvage a point thanks to a spectacular strike from Declan Rice in the second half, though they could have easily lost the match if not for goalkeeper David Raya's crucial saves.
The draw proved costly for Arsenal's title aspirations, as they now sit 15 points behind league leaders Liverpool. When Sky Sports journalist Patrick Davison questioned Arteta about the title race immediately after the match, the Spanish manager abruptly walked out of the television interview, visibly frustrated.
However, Arteta later composed himself and addressed the same question during his post-match press conference. "I don't want to say that [the title race is over], but today the frustration is that we haven't won our game," Arteta explained to reporters. "We know the urgency, and you're obligated to win every single match. You won't have any chance of doing that, I don't think it's the right moment to talk about that."
The North London side will need to quickly regroup as they return to action this Wednesday for their Champions League round of 16 second-leg fixture against PSV, shifting their focus to European competition following this setback in their domestic campaign.
