Eintracht Frankfurt are looking to secure a permanent deal for Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen, who has impressed during his loan spell with the Bundesliga club this season.
The Danish international, who initially joined Leeds United from Red Bull Salzburg for €10million (£8.34m) in the summer of 2022, has established himself as a key player in Dino Toppmoller's squad. Since arriving at Frankfurt on a season-long loan in the summer of 2024, Kristensen has featured prominently, making 18 appearances in the Bundesliga and contributing to the team's Europa League campaign with seven additional matches.
The 27-year-old right-back's journey to Frankfurt included a stint at Roma last season, where he made 31 appearances before making the move to Germany. His performances have caught the attention of Frankfurt's management, leading to discussions between the clubs regarding a permanent transfer during the January window, though no agreement was reached at that time.
Kristensen's last appearance for Leeds United came in 2023, following a season in which he made 30 appearances across all competitions during the club's ultimately unsuccessful battle against Premier League relegation. The Yorkshire club anticipates renewed negotiations during the summer transfer window, though Frankfurt are eager to expedite the process and secure his services as soon as possible.
Currently sitting third in the Bundesliga table, Frankfurt find themselves 15 points behind leaders Bayern Munich as they prepare for their upcoming home fixture against Holstein Kiel on Sunday. The potential permanent acquisition of Kristensen could prove crucial for Frankfurt's ambitions, particularly given their progression to the last-16 stage of the Europa League.
