Griezmann Rejects MLS, Remains Loyal to Atletico Madrid Until 2026

Antoine Griezmann Delays MLS Move, Commits to Atletico Madrid Through 2026

Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has decided to remain with the Spanish club for at least one more season, pushing back a potential move to Major League Soccer until 2026. According to Mundo Deportivo, the 34-year-old French international plans to see out his current contract at the Wanda Metropolitano despite reported interest from LAFC.

Griezmann, who has been in excellent form this season with 16 goals and seven assists across 42 appearances in all competitions, believes that interest from MLS clubs will still be there when his contract expires in the summer of 2026. This decision comes as the veteran forward continues to be a vital part of Atletico Madrid's squad under Diego Simeone.

Meanwhile, AC Milan could be facing a summer exodus of talent if they fail to secure Champions League qualification. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri might be forced to part ways with several key players, including Portuguese winger Rafael Leão. The 25-year-old, who has contributed to 13 goals in 28 Serie A appearances this season, has previously attracted interest from Barcelona.

The uncertainty at Milan extends beyond Leão, with the futures of goalkeeper Mike Maignan and left-back Theo Hernández also reportedly in question as the club faces potential financial adjustments without Champions League revenue.

In Premier League news, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has drawn interest from both Atletico Madrid and AC Milan, according to TEAMtalk. The 27-year-old Uruguayan international, whose current contract runs until 2026, may receive a new offer from Spurs as they look to secure his services amid growing interest from the European clubs.

Elsewhere, Everton are reportedly exploring a move for Burnley center-back Maxime Estève as a potential replacement should Jarrad Branthwaite depart in the summer. Foot Mercato reports that the 22-year-old defender, who has started all 38 Championship matches for Burnley this season, is also attracting interest from West Ham.

Nottingham Forest are considering a move for AC Milan midfielder Alexis Saelemaekers, as reported by Calciomercato. The Premier League club, currently sitting third in the table with a six-point lead over fifth-placed Manchester City, see the 25-year-old Belgian as an ideal reinforcement for their potential Champions League campaign next season.

The summer transfer window promises to be active, with the Premier League set to open its window early due to the Club World Cup, while other significant moves remain in development, including Manchester City's pending decision on young talent Echeverri.
