Annie Kilner, wife of English defender Kyle Walker, unexpectedly missed her husband's AC Milan debut despite making the journey to Italy with their four children. The family, including Roman (11), Riaan (7), Reign (5), and nine-month-old Rezon, had traveled to support Walker in his new venture with the Serie A giants.
According to The Sun, Kilner opted to remain at the five-star Melia Milano Hotel, where Walker has been residing since his move to Milan. Despite the hotel's convenient proximity to San Siro Stadium, she chose not to attend the match, missing a significant moment when Walker took to the field wearing new boots adorned with their children's birthdates.
The match itself proved to be a memorable debut for Walker, who impressed in AC Milan's 1-1 draw against their fierce rivals Inter. His performance drew comparisons to Brazilian legend and club icon Cafu from some supporters. The Rossoneri came close to securing a victory through Tijjani Reijnders' first-half strike, but their hopes were dashed when Stefan de Vrij netted an equalizer in second-half stoppage time, ensuring the derby honors were shared.
Looking ahead, Walker will have another opportunity to showcase his skills as Sergio Conceicao's Milan prepare to host AS Roma in a challenging Coppa Italia quarter-final clash on Wednesday, where he is expected to contend for a starting position once again.
