Napoli has expressed keen interest in Manchester United's promising winger Alejandro Garnacho, though the Serie A club's sporting director Giovanni Manna has made it clear they won't meet excessive demands for the Argentine talent.
Throughout January, transfer speculation has linked Garnacho with a move to Italy, with Manchester United reportedly setting a £50 million ($62m) price tag. While Chelsea has also emerged as a potential suitor, Napoli remains cautious about their approach to any potential deal.
The situation at Manchester United has seen Garnacho's playing time limited this season, with only 11 Premier League starts to his name. Reports suggest United might be open to his departure as they navigate Profit and Sustainability Rules compliance. This comes at an interesting time for Napoli, who recently agreed to sell their star winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain for €70m (£59m/$72m).
Speaking to Gianluca Di Marzio, Manna outlined Napoli's position: "Karim Adeyemi and Alejandro Garnacho are two names that interest us, that we like. They are not the only ones, we will try to evaluate the opportunities. We will certainly not pay off-market prices. Kvara must be replaced, a transfer for the player's will. We are not holding back. We also have other ideas, let's see what happens in the next few days."
The timing of these developments coincides with Manchester United's ongoing struggles in the Premier League, where they remain stuck in the bottom half of the table. The Red Devils are set to face Fulham on Sunday as they attempt to improve their position in the league standings.
