The New York Red Bulls have unveiled their latest away jersey for the 2025 MLS season, dubbed the 'Stone Kit,' drawing inspiration from New York City's rich architectural heritage and the historic Stone Street in Manhattan.
The new kit, modeled by Emil Forsberg and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, features a distinctive light gray base color with subtle variations that create a textured appearance mimicking stone surfaces. The design incorporates fine lines and irregular shapes, paying homage to the architectural grid pattern that originated from Stone Street in Manhattan. The club's crest adorns the left chest, while the Red Bull logo stands out in red lettering across the center.
"Stone Kit represents more than just a jersey – it's a bridge between New York's historic foundations and our club's vibrant future," said Elisa Padilla, Chief Marketing Officer of the New York Red Bulls. "This project celebrates the diverse tapestry of New York, while delivering a contemporary statement piece that our fans can wear with pride, whether they're in our stands or on the block."
The unveiling comes as the Red Bulls look to build on their impressive 2024 campaign, where despite finishing seventh in the Eastern Conference during the regular season, they made a remarkable run to the MLS Cup final. Although they ultimately fell short in a 2-1 defeat to the LA Galaxy, the team's performance has set high expectations for the upcoming season.
As the Red Bulls prepare for the 2025 season, their preseason form has been mixed, with two victories from four matches so far. The team has two remaining preseason fixtures before they debut their new Stone Kit against FC Cincinnati in their 2025 MLS season opener.
The collaboration with Adidas has produced a kit that not only serves as a playing uniform but also as a tribute to the iconic building materials that have shaped New York City's skyline, emphasizing the club's deep connection to the city's architectural identity and cultural heritage.
