Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has firmly decided on his future amid growing speculation linking him with a move to the Saudi Pro League. Despite facing significant criticism and making several high-profile errors during his time at Old Trafford, Onana is determined to stay with the Red Devils.
According to ESPN, while Manchester United are reportedly interested in cashing in on the goalkeeper this summer and potentially offloading him to Saudi Arabia, Onana has made it clear that he wants to remain at the club. The Cameroonian shot-stopper would only consider a transfer to the Middle East if he is explicitly told that he no longer has a future at United.
The situation comes at a time when Manchester United are expected to undergo a major squad overhaul during the upcoming transfer window. The club has been linked with potential replacements, including Royal Antwerp's Senne Lammens and Lille's Lucas Chevalier, suggesting that management may be preparing for life after Onana.
There are additional factors complicating the goalkeeping situation at Old Trafford. Veteran keeper Tom Heaton, now 38, is expected to retire, while backup Altay Bayindir could depart in search of regular playing time. This means that new manager Ruben Amorim may need to bring in additional goalkeeping talent regardless of what happens with Onana.
Despite the criticism he has faced, Onana has made 67 Premier League appearances for Manchester United and has recorded 17 clean sheets during his time at the club. His immediate focus will be on United's next fixture, as the team returns to action after the international break with a Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on April 1.
