Portland Thorns stars Deyna Castellanos and Olivia Moultrie have joined Red Bull's impressive roster of athletes, marking another significant milestone in the energy drink giant's growing presence in women's soccer.
The duo joins USWNT talents Trinity Rodman and Jaedyn Shaw as Red Bull athletes ahead of the Thorns' 2025 NWSL campaign, where they are expected to play pivotal roles for Portland.
"Before turning pro I had a dream list of brands I wanted to work with, and Red Bull was always on that list," Castellanos shared with Red Bull. "It's such an incredible honor to be partnered with Red Bull, and I can't wait for the amazing things we're going to build together."
Moultrie expressed similar enthusiasm about joining the prestigious brand: "I've always seen and been impressed with Red Bull athletes. They're inspirational because they're unapologetically themselves while in pursuit of their goals. To me, Red Bull has always represented excellence. I'm honored to be a part of this rare collection of athletes that are striving for the same thing I am: world class greatness!"
Both players bring impressive credentials to the partnership. Castellanos holds the distinction of being the youngest nominee in history for FIFA Best Women's Player of the Year, while Moultrie has made her mark as the youngest player ever signed to an NWSL contract and the youngest goalscorer in league history. Moultrie's resume already includes winning the 2022 NWSL championship with Portland.
The announcement comes as the Portland Thorns prepare for their 2025 NWSL season opener against Kansas City Current on Saturday, March 15. The team will then return to Providence Park for back-to-back home matches against Angel City FC on March 22 and North Carolina Courage on March 30.
The Thorns enter the new season facing challenges with roster changes, but the continued development of stars like Castellanos and Moultrie will be crucial to their success as they look to compete for championships in the increasingly competitive NWSL.
