Paris Saint-Germain and England goalkeeper Mary Earps has revealed her picks for the best goalkeepers in both women's and men's football during a recent event in Paris.
The 31-year-old shot-stopper, who recently made the move to PSG, shared her insights at PlayStation's innovative football and basketball crossover concept court event in the French capital.
When asked about standout performers between the posts, Earps named NJ/NY Gotham FC's Ann-Katrin Berger as the top goalkeeper in women's football, while also highlighting Chicago Red Stars' Alyssa Naeher as another exceptional talent. "Ann-Katrin Berger [is the best] based on last year," Earps stated. "I think across the whole season you'd have to say Alyssa Naeher or Ann-Katrin Berger."
In the men's game, Earps was unequivocal in her assessment, identifying Liverpool's Alisson as the current pinnacle of goalkeeping excellence. "Liverpool's Allison is still the best goalkeeper for me, all around," she affirmed.
The endorsement carries particular weight coming from Earps, who is widely regarded as one of the leading goalkeepers in women's football. Her recognition of both Berger and Alisson's abilities serves to reinforce their status among the elite in their respective domains.
Looking ahead, both Earps and Alisson will be in action this Saturday, with PSG traveling to face Strasbourg while Liverpool takes on Bournemouth in away fixtures.
