PSG President Al-Khelaifi to Host Prince William and Tom Hanks for Aston Villa's Champions League Clash
Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi plans to invite Prince William and Hollywood star Tom Hanks to witness Aston Villa's upcoming Champions League quarter-final at Parc des Princes next month.
The future King of England is well-known for his passionate support of Aston Villa and was recently spotted at Villa Park during their impressive 3-1 victory over Club Brugge in the Champions League round of 16. Following that match, Prince William was heard telling journalists, "See you in Paris," as he departed in his car, according to the Daily Mail.
True to his word, the Prince of Wales appears ready to keep his promise to fellow Villa supporters. The invitation from PSG's president comes as Al-Khelaifi celebrates becoming the club's longest-serving president, surpassing Francis Borelli's tenure from 1978 to 1991. As of Wednesday, the Qatari businessman has been at the helm for 13 years, four months, and 23 days.
Prince William's devotion to Aston Villa extends beyond just attending high-profile matches. He frequently attends games with his son, Prince George, and has admitted to losing his voice from enthusiastically cheering for his beloved team. Earlier this year in January, he surprised Villa fans with his generosity by purchasing a round of drinks for eight supporters at a Wetherspoons near Birmingham New Street Station before Villa's Premier League match against Everton. The Prince reportedly enjoyed a pint of Bulmers cider himself and spent approximately half an hour with fans before catching a train back to London.
While Aston Villa currently sit ninth in the Premier League table, their Champions League campaign has been remarkable. They remain within striking distance of a top-four finish domestically, sitting just four points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, who have accumulated 49 points this season. Villa's attention now turns to an FA Cup quarter-final against Preston on Sunday, March 30, followed by a challenging Premier League fixture against in-form Brighton on Wednesday, April 2.
For Prince William and Hollywood legend Tom Hanks, the Champions League quarter-final in Paris will provide another opportunity to show their unwavering support for the Villans on European football's biggest stage.
