A former Roma coach has revealed a peculiar anecdote about Mohamed Salah and Francesco Totti, highlighting their extraordinary passion for football - even in the most unexpected moments. According to Emanuele Marra, the two stars would practice their dribbling skills while showering, showcasing their unwavering dedication to the sport.
Speaking to Radio Serie A, Marra shared an intimate glimpse into the players' commitment: "Two players that I had the pleasure of training, who are Totti and Salah, at the end of training I found them dribbling in the shower while they were taking a bath. That is, shower with the ball in and they were dribbling: this makes you understand the passion and love there is for what they do. Dribbling at that moment certainly didn't help improve their technique, but they did it simply because they love the ball."
The revelation provides a unique insight into Salah's development during his time at Roma, where he played alongside Totti, who is widely regarded as an icon of the Italian club. During his stint with the Serie A side, Salah demonstrated his exceptional talent, contributing 34 goals and providing 20 assists across 83 appearances. Initially joining on loan from Chelsea, Salah's impressive performances led to a permanent move in 2016.
The Egyptian forward's trajectory continued upward following his time in Italy, as he made his way to Liverpool, where he has since established himself as a club legend. The dedication shown during those shower sessions with Totti perhaps foreshadowed the remarkable career that would follow.
Fans can next witness Salah's skills in action when Liverpool face Plymouth Argyle in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday, though presumably, this time on the actual pitch rather than in the shower.
