Tottenham are reportedly considering sacking manager Ange Postecoglou if the club fails to win the Europa League this season, with two Premier League managers already lined up as potential replacements.
The Australian boss has come under increasing pressure following a disappointing Premier League campaign that has left Spurs languishing in 14th place in the table. With the Europa League now representing their only chance of silverware this season, failure to deliver the trophy could spell the end for the 59-year-old at the North London club.
According to The Telegraph, Tottenham are already exploring alternatives and have identified Fulham's Marco Silva and Bournemouth's Andoni Iraola as leading candidates to take over should they part ways with Postecoglou.
Both Silva and Iraola have impressed with their respective clubs this season. Fulham currently sit in eighth place in the Premier League and recently secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Tottenham. Meanwhile, Bournemouth occupy 10th position and have recorded notable wins against several top clubs, including Manchester United, Newcastle, Arsenal and Manchester City.
The two managers have also guided their teams to strong FA Cup performances, with both clubs still in contention and hoping to reach Wembley in May.
The report suggests that Iraola 'would be interested' in the Tottenham job, although Bournemouth would be reluctant to lose their Spanish manager, who remains under contract until 2026. Silva has similarly been linked with a move away from Craven Cottage after rebuilding his Premier League reputation following a difficult spell at Everton.
Tottenham will return to action after the international break with Premier League fixtures against Chelsea and Southampton before facing Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie - a competition that now appears crucial to Postecoglou's future at the club.
